Through a comprehensive 24-week field placement in real industrial settings, students gain invaluable hands-on experience in occupational safety contexts. This immersive experience ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry. During this period, students will be exposed to various legal and industrial requirements, including:
- Workplace Procedures: Students will learn and adhere to standard workplace procedures, ensuring they understand the operational protocols and safety measures in place.
- Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS): They will gain insights into the implementation and maintenance of OSHMS, understanding its importance in creating a safe working environment.
- Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC): Students will be trained in identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Workplace Inspection: They will conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Promotion: Students will engage in activities to promote OSH awareness among employees, fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
- Safety and Health Committee (SHC) Meetings: They will participate in SHC meetings, contributing to discussions on safety issues and solutions, and understanding the collaborative nature of workplace safety.
- Incident Investigation: Students will be involved in investigating workplace incidents, learning how to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Handling OSH Emergencies: They will be trained in emergency response procedures, ensuring they are prepared to handle OSH emergencies effectively.
- Familiarization with DOSH Online Systems (MyKKP & MySKUD): Students will get hands-on experience with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) online systems, MYKKP and MYSKUD, which are essential for managing safety and health documentation and compliance.
This practical experience is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the real-world applications of their studies, ensuring they are well-equipped to enter the workforce as competent and confident occupational safety and health professionals.

Entry Requirements
To enroll in the Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

The minimum entry requirements are shown below:
i. A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any TWO subjects*; OR
ii. A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
iii. Matriculation or Foundation with at least a CGPA of 2.00*; OR
iv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least a CGPA of 2.00*; OR
v. A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM)**; OR
vi. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
Additional requirement for i–iv: A credit in ONE Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science) at SPM level or equivalent qualifications (Refer to the notes (*)).

- A credit in Mathematics and ONE Science subject at SPM level or equivalent qualifications
English competency requirement (international student): Achieve a minimum Band 3 in MUET OR equivalent to CEFR (Low B2)***.

Program Structure
The Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (Hons.) is a comprehensive program covering University and MQA Compulsory Subjects, Occupational Safety and Health Foundations, Professional Practice, and Core Occupational Safety and Health areas. Students gain essential knowledge in occupational safety, health management, risk assessment, safety and health laws, and practical fieldwork. To graduate, they must complete 129 credit hours, including a 24-week practicum in an industrial setting.
